Finn-Ole Heinrich was born in 1982 near Hamburg. After finishing his Abitur in Cuxhafen and doing his community service (the alternative to military service) in Hamburg, he studied Fine Art and Film in Hanover. In 2005 Mairisch Verlag published his first volume of stories, and this was followed in 2007 by his widely acclaimed first novel "Räuberhände" / Robbers’ Hands (adapted for the stage by Michael Müller and published by chronos theatertexte). He has been awarded several grants and prizes. Since 2009 he has been living and working as a freelance author in Hamburg and France.
