In a kingdom somewhere among the high mountains live the two brother kings Hyacinth and Alabaster. Their rule over their country is quite remarkable: taxes have been abolished, soldiers have been sent home, leisure is taken just as seriously as work, and the whole day is spent laughing and making music. You would have thought that just about everybody would enjoy this way of life. But the Lord Chamberlain, a man completely devoid of fantasy and humour, seeks to put an end to all the fun and games.
