The Journey to the Centre of the Forest

Monologue for 1 m; age 8 +; first produced by Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen, in co-production with Theater Freiburg, on 20.09.2015, directed by Benedikt Grubel

The robber lives in the deepest depths of the endless forest. He frightens bears, plans raids, sharpens knives and stinks out his socks. Hardly any reports or accurate studies of his way of life exist, but the bold explorer Markus Michalik has, for the first time, succeeded in tracking him down. He spent a whole month living with the robber, mugging hikers with him, building thieves’ dens and picking heaps of berries. For days he walked across country with the robber and followed him to the heart of the forest, the place where the truth about the point of life can be found. And here an even greater adventure awaits Markus. To find it, he must leave the robber because the robber has no friends. But surely nothing can frighten Markus now?!
