With naive fantasy, Don Quixote defends the right not to live life solely in accordance with the laws of logic, practicality and efficiency. Today we would tell him to "get real" – and by that we would mean that he must accept the world as it is. In this original adaptation of the famous book, Jürgen Neff not only mingles reality and fiction, but also shows that as in children’s games both principles can exist together as legitimate means of access to the world. Neither his adversaries nor sorcerers nor the neighbours can take away from the knight and shepherd Quixote the power of his subjective dreams of how life should be lived.
