The maths lesson starts in five minutes. Emil is in the school toilets, trying to dry his exercise book. One by one, he fishes his pens out of the loo. He can’t understand how Luke could do such a thing. They’re friends, aren’t they? Luke should have helped him. Instead, he just flushed the toilet after their bully of a schoolmate Moritz had upended his schoolbag into the toilet bowl! But Luke is afraid of Moritz and chose to betray his friend rather than risk becoming Moritz’s next target. But it’s no use. A few days later Moritz forces Emil to flush the toilet and it is Luke who has to fish his pencil case out of the disgusting swill. Emil and Luke quarrel, their friendship seems to have been ruined by Moritz’s bullying. Then John, a previous victim of Moritz’s, turns up. Jens isn’t weak any more, and he’s brought some reinforcements. A terrible brawl ensues and Luke and Emil are faced with the decision of joining in, or not.
