Monsterfische

Monster Fish

1 f – 2 m; age 6 +; awaiting first production

Till is new in town. His parents have separated and so he has had to move house with his mother, leaving behind the ocean, where he always loved to swim and dive with his father. He feels angry and sad and, more than anything, lonely. When Till meets Ella, who is a bit of an outsider, he tries in vain to attract her attention. He does his best to make her laugh, but she doesn’t react. Then he pulls his trump card and claims to be a fish. Ella thinks this is weird, but nevertheless wants to know how the story continues. Unfortunately, her interest catches the attention of a horrible boy called Bodo. Bodo constantly annoys Ella, but that’s because he is secretly in love with her. In this situation, Till’s game increasingly develops a life of its own and finally leads to an angry quarrel. In the end, the children find ways to "swim free" and succeed, each for him or herself and also all together, in overcoming their very own private monsters.
