Kosmonautin Walentina
von Flo Staffelmayr
Monolog
Cosmonaut Valentina
1f; age 6 +; first produced at Vorarlberger Landestheater, Bregenz on 24.09.2015; directed by Marcus Harms
Even as a child, Valentina dreamt of zooming through the night like a comet, getting as close as possible to the celestial bodies. She starts out as a parachutist so as to get a little closer to the sky. Then she applies for admission to the cosmonaut academy – and is accepted! On 16 June 1963, Valentina lifts off to become the first woman in space! She orbits the earth for three days. Her radio code name is "Chaika", (seagull)!
Flo Staffelmayr describes with passion and empathy this unusual, strong-willed woman, who never gives up her childhood dream. Yet in the small space capsule, she is not only close to the stars at last, but also closer to herself than ever before. In the great isolation of space, Valentina also has to face up to her fears and thoughts. An exciting solo role for a female actor!
